Boardzone.com was launched in 1998. Initially, Boardzone on-line strategy focused primarily on the snowboard and snowboard apparel markets, adding the skateboard shop in 2000.

Boardzone.com ships snowboard products all over the world either from its US warehouse in Cheektowaga, NY or its Canadian warehouse in Toronto, Canada. Skateboard products are shipped within Canada only.

Boardzone was the first authorized on-line seller of Burton Snowboard products and continues today to showcase a wide selection of Burton products as well as Burton’s associated brands Red, Anon, Forum, Special Blend and Foursquare.

The Boardzone.com product range has grown to include all major snowboard and skateboard brands, as well as selected West 49 branded product.

In 2005, Boardzone.com was purchased by West 49 Inc. West 49 is a leading Canadian multi-banner specialty retailer of apparel, footwear, accessories and equipment related to skateboarding, snowboarding and surfing. West 49 is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol WXX.
